Samuel with the winner at Firhill

Partick Thistle defeated Dunfermline Athletic 2-1 in front of 8,044 fans at Firhill on Friday night to reach the William Hill Premiership play-off final.

It was 1-1 in the first leg at East End Park on Tuesday and it was the Pars who again struck first through Charlie Gilmour after 34 minutes.

Logan Chalmers equalised five minutes after the break and Alex Samuel grabbed the winner for Mark Wilson's men with 15 minutes left.

Thistle will now face St Mirren in the final - they host Saints on Thursday May 21 and travel to Paisley on Monday May 25. Both games are live on Sky Sports, kick-off 8.00pm.

Meanwhile, Hamilton Accies have retained their League 1 status thanks to a 4-3 win over Clyde in a thrilling match at Broadwood for a 5-4 success on aggregate.
